What Perkins Collision Forensics Can Do For You

Areas of Practice

Automobile collisions

With experience investigating over 700 traffic collisions from simple non-injury fender-benders to complex multi-vehicle injury collisions, Perkins Collision Forensics can help you and, more importantly, a jury understand how a collision occurred using established, generally accepted and peer-reviewed methodologies that can withstand a Frye or Daubert motion.

DOCUMENTATION OF EVIDENCE

It isn't just people that have a story to tell. Factual evidence, when available, can provide its own story as well. Unfortunately, in traffic collisions, much of the evidence may be lost even by the time vehicles are towed away from the scene. Tire marks fade, roadways are rebuilt, and cars can be disposed of. Police officers, through no fault of their own, may miss crucial evidence or simply be unable to document it at all. During the course of their involvement in a case, Perkins Collision Forensics will document any factual evidence it finds during their examinations and take every reasonable step to locate and document any remaining evidence.  We will relay that information to you or your designated investigator for any evidence that needs to be collected and/or stored.

Auto/pedestrian/BICYCLIST

Highway collisions often don't occur solely between two automobiles. Sometimes pedestrians or bicyclists are stuck as well and these collisions have their own unique sets of circumstances that differ from Auto vs. Auto collisions. Through careful analysis of available evidence, Perkins Collision Forensics can help provide valuable insights and assist you in accounting for those special considerations.

Testimony

It's one thing to have the knowledge and experience necessary to accurately conclude how a collision occurred, but it's quite another to be able to adequately convey that information and, often, technical work to a jury in a way that they can understand and that will hold up to scrutiny in the adversarial environment of a courtroom or deposition. Perkins Collision Forensics has court and deposition testimony experience and understands that it's important to be, first and foremost, a reliable witness and jury educator.

Special conditions

Unfortunately not everything is as easy to explain as "Car A hit Car B because Car A was driving too fast." In intersection collisions both parties may claim to have had a green signal. In nighttime or low-light conditions a driver, reasonably, might not have even seen the other party or their vehicle until the collision occurs. A vehicle is struck causing it to split into two halves. These are just a few examples of factors that complicate a case and make it difficult for someone to determine what really happened. Perkins Collision Forensics has had experience in handling these types of cases, accounting for uniqueconditions and providing details that help give a complete picture of the collision event.

General case CONSULTATIONS

Not every case goes to trial and not every collision requires a full reconstruction. Sometimes you just need a second opinion before deciding to file that medical lien, want to be sure to have the right questions ready before deposing the investigation officer or an opposing expert, or just need someone to help understand what happened before crafting your case strategy. With minimal work to determine the background and underlying details of a case Perkins Collision Forensics is ready to help enable you to be confident in your understanding of the collision event so you are ready to move your case forward.
